Manuscript volume compiled by James Russell of Charlestown, Mass., treasurer of Massachusetts Bay, 1680-1688, and justice of the peace, 1692-1707, for the Middlesex County Court. The first half of the volume includes copies of legal forms and documents such as recognizances, warrants, reports, and wills used by Russell as justice of the peace; a chronology of significant events in New England from 1610-1701; records from Middlesex County; and a chart outlining degrees of parentage and consanguinity. Second half of volume contains copies of laws from the administration of Gov. Edmund Andros.
